Please, if you want to have any clients at the end of your trip, don't ever bring anyone here. The embarrassment had no limits: there was no AC, there was no concierge, there are bed bugs, the food is horrendous, there is no entertainment at night, they advertised a Casino One of our rooms got broken into, stuff stolen. Is advertised as 5 stars hotel, but the truth is I have better enjoyed by far a motel in the side of the road.
We had to leave after 1 night had scheduled 3 nights. They had plenty of fans to give us, leading me to believe this is a common problem, and a local person told me they have been having problems for a year or so. IF the room has a window, there are no screens, so mosquitos have free access.
They advertise they are a 5-star hotel. Well, that's in the past. They might be full for a couple years due to Canal employees working on the new locks contracting for rooms there, but they are worth a try. We moved there after suffering at the Melia overnight. They also advertise a Casino, which was closed. Guess things are NOT going well for them. If they get the air conditioning fixed it's a nice place to stay, but I'll probably not bring anyone there again.
Bad service, unkindly and indifferent. Our rooms had not air conditioning, just a small fan to hold us through the night. I ask them what was going on and they said it was compressor troubles. The clerk did not know how to solve the or make out the expedia rate, therefore, he just gave me a standard room, what a waste of my money. There was no air conditioning; they lied about it, said it would be fixed we later learned it had been broken two months.
They refused to reduce the rate as compensation. The hotel bathrobe had an old keycard in it; it was dirty and smelled. Left bathrobe on the wet bathroom floor, and they hung it back up. The safe was the size of a toaster, and not attached to anything. The beautiful pool was surrounded by beautiful slick tile, no textured surface; I slipped, fractured a toe and was bruised from ankles to knees. The staff was sullen I'm not surprised. This hotel's going to have to change its ways or it is going down.
