Still, I did it for the fun but after awhile the fun palls. Like masturbation. In fact I think I posted some pictures of them on a previous post.
But this trip I only saw two working, probably because it was intensely hot and the other hookers took to ply their trade in cooler locations. I tend a bit to the claustrophobic so not to have a window is a bit confining. I was afraid to see where the toilet was. I rested for a while, then went down to the restaurant and had dinner, with a half liter of wine, always a sure cure for jet lag, at least temporarily.
Of course I ate alone. But there are times when it gets oppressively lonely. I always take something to read to dinner, otherwise I sit there and stare at other groups of diners eating, talking, laughing. Past a chinese restaurant that a comic I know, Billy Vader always goes to when his ship stops here. The Chinese out starbucked Starbucks, years and years ago. After my short walk I came back to the room and forthwith passed out, only to waken about 3 hours later.
Fortunately I was able to go back to sleep and got up about Livorno, Italy. July 23,
